A little about Lori!
A little about Lori:
As a little girl Lori loved to occasionally go on service calls with her dad, Bob. He owned a Refrigeration business and serviced a majority of the ice cream shops in Lower Michigan. When she was about 12, traveling home from a service call with her dad, Lori proclaimed, “One day I’m going to have an ice cream store and I’m going to call it Lick ‘Em Up!
Lori’s dad always encouraged her to follow her dreams and as the years went on, she kept her dream in her heart. When she was 18, the owner of an area ice cream shop broke his leg and she helped him out for that summer.
Working in the ice cream shop was fun, but Lori continued on with her education and followed in her father’s footsteps in the family Heating, Cooling and Refrigeration business. Then in 2004 her dad called her into his office and asked if she was ready to start the ice cream store. Excited, she said “yes”!! It just so happened that the very store she had helped out at in her younger years was available. It had been closed for several years and needed some work but encouraged by her dad and having faith in her dream, in September of 2004 Lori’s Lick ‘Em Up Ice Cream was officially born!
Lori believes life humbles us all. She gratefully contributes to many community events. Participating in multiple city parks and recreation programs, from parades to little league sponsorships, supporting countless fundraisers, Veterans, Shriners Hospitals, and Wounded Warriors, she also donates to many churches around town and underprivileged. She also provides employment opportunities to the younger generations seeking their first job!
Lori has put her heart and soul into making Lori’s Lick ‘Em Up a fun family place to be: A true American childhood dream fulfilled.
